Reaching Jammu from Amritsar
Getting from Amritsar to Jammu in the shortest time possible via road includes taking a cab to Pathankot Cantt Railway Station and then boarding a pre-booked Vande Bharat Express that departs at 11:17 am and reaches Jammu at 12:43 pm.
Grab a cup of coffee from the shop on the main platform before heading to your platform and clicking pictures.
First Things to Do After Arriving
If you do not have a postpaid SIM card or one that works in Jammu & Kashmir, buy one from the shops outside Jammu Railway Station as you exit.
The process requires live photograph, Aadhar card.
The SIM activation is instant.
You could be sold a sim supposed to work countrywide but stops functioning when you exit Jammu & Kashmir.
Where to Stay
Booking a Radisson Superior room smartly would cost you approximately ₹4,500.
If you forgot a specific piece of clothing for the next day and need to eat while your friends are resting, you can rush to Wave Mall from the hotel, where you will find brands like Levi's, and KFC in the food court.
In April, it is better to carry an umbrella; otherwise, you may find yourself returning from the hotel lobby to your room to retrieve one.
Visiting Bahu Fort
Tourist spots in Jammu include Bahu Fort.
At the entry, tickets were for aquarium which did not seem tempting in the instant so I took a picture of the water body and fort with snow-capped mountains in the background and left.
There is also a temple, although I only walked up to the shops nearby.

I reached Amar Mahal Palace at 5:50 pm after repeated insistence by the auto driver that it would still be open, only to find that it had already closed for the day at 5:30 pm.
Sunset at Hari Mahal Palace & Restaurant
Hari Mahal Palace & Restaurant offers a panoramic view of the pink April sunset sky, the Tawi River, and the illuminated city.
There is also a fountain featuring a grotesque lion sculpture, a display of the royal family's vehicles, and tasty appetizers with coffee.
